Ate List is a place to keep your own restaurant rankings and see your friends'. This page says exactly what it stores, who can see it, and how to get rid of it.
The short version. Your lists are private to you and the people you follow each other with. Nothing is public unless you make a share link yourself. We don't sell anything, run ads, or use third-party trackers. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app, in one step, without asking us.
Ate List is an independent app. The developer is the data controller and can be reached at the address at the bottom of this page.
If you allow it, the app uses your location to show restaurants near you and to work out which city a place is in. Your location is never stored and never leaves your device except as a search sent to Apple Maps, which handles it under Apple's privacy policy. Coordinates we do store belong to restaurants, not to you. The app works without location; you lose the nearby list, not the rankings.
On your phone, and in Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Hosting and Crashlytics), which we use as our processor under Google's security terms. Data may be stored on servers outside your country. Transport is encrypted, and access is enforced by server-side rules so that one account cannot read another's data.
Until you delete it. Removing a ranking removes it, and its photo, for you and for everyone who could see it. Deleting your account removes your profile, every ranking, every photo, your saved places, your follows and your share links. Crash reports are kept by Firebase on its own schedule and contain nothing identifying. Backups may lag by a short period before overwriting.
In the app: Me → Settings → Delete account. It is immediate and permanent, it needs no email to us, and there is nothing left afterwards to ask about.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or erase what we hold, to object to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. Deletion is built into the app; for anything else, write to us and we'll answer.
Ate List is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we'll remove it.
Notes, handles and display names are written by users. The app filters obvious abuse before it is saved, and gives you a way to report content and to block the person who wrote it, from the row itself. Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or who can see it, the date at the top changes and we'll say so in the app.
